Create rarity-based randomized sales where each artwork receives a rarity attribute based on its supply.

What is Jellybean?​

Jellybean is mallow's rarity-driven randomized artwork distribution system. Similar to Gumball, but with a key difference: each piece receives a rarity designation based on its supply out of the total supply of the Jellybean. This creates a natural rarity economy where artworks with lower supply numbers become harder to attain.

Jellybean is primarily designed for selling random editions from many master editions, but you can also add 1/1 artworks as "Mythic" prizes to create truly unique collecting experiences.

💎 Automatic Rarity System​

Each artwork automatically receives a rarity attribute based on its supply relative to the total collection:

  • Mythic: 1/1 artworks
  • Legendary: 2% or less of the supply
  • Epic: 4% or less of the supply
  • Rare: 10% or less of the supply
  • Uncommon: 25% or less of the supply
  • Common: > 25% of the supply

Configuration Options​

Jellybean Details​

Name​

  • Enter a title for your Jellybean sale (32 character limit)
  • This appears on the Jellybean page and Explore page cards

Description​

  • Add an optional description explaining your Jellybean sale (1000 character limit)
  • Help collectors understand the concept and artworks included

Thumbnail​

  • Upload a cover image representing your Jellybean sale
  • Recommended size: 690px (w) x 920px (h)
  • Supported formats: .jpeg, .gif, .webp, .png (10mb max)

Categories and Tags​

  • Select relevant categories to improve discoverability
  • Add custom tags to help collectors find your work
  • Tags also determine automatic categorization

Artwork Selection​

Supported Artworks​

  • Metaplex Core artworks only
  • Limited editions that haven't sold any prints yet
  • 1/1 artworks for special prizes
  • Maximum items per Jellybean: 255 (this does not include edition count)
    • Example: Adding Master Edition A with 500 supply, Master Edition B with 100 supply, and a 1/1 artwork will count as 3 items

Rarity Assignment​

Artworks are automatically assigned rarity based on their supply:

  • Lower supply artworks receive higher rarity designations
  • Rarity percentages are calculated based on total collection supply
  • 1/1 pieces typically receive Mythic rarity
  • Rarity is added as an attribute in the artwork metadata

Sales Configuration​

Item Price​

  • Set the price collectors pay for each random artwork
  • Currency options: SOL, USDC, or other supported tokens
  • Minimum: 0.01 SOL or equivalent

Start Time​

  • Start manually: Launch when you're ready
  • Scheduled start: Set a specific date and time for automatic launch
  • All times displayed in your local timezone

End Time​

Choose how long your Jellybean sale runs:

  • No end time: Sale continues until all artworks are sold
  • 24 hours: Sale ends after one day from start
  • 1 week: Sale ends after seven days from start
  • Custom date: Set a specific end date and time

Buy Limit Per Wallet​

  • Set maximum number of artworks each wallet can purchase
  • Helps prevent single collectors from dominating the sale
  • Limit applies across all phases if using allowlists

Allowlist Phases​

Setup Requirements​

  • Requires a scheduled start time
  • Maximum of 4 allowlist phases before public sale

Phase Configuration​

Each allowlist phase includes:

  • Phase name: Descriptive title for the presale
  • Duration: How long the phase will last for. A phase always starts when the previous one ends.
  • Pricing: Can differ from public price
  • Wallet allowlist: CSV or JSON upload of eligible addresses

Revenue and Rewards​

Proceeds Splits​

  • Configure up to 5 wallets to split proceeds from sales
  • mallow receives a 5% share of all sales

Automatic Distribution​

  • Revenue automatically distributed to wallets in the proceeds splits on each sale
  • See your real-time earnings in the Jellybean Studio

Getting Started​

Step 1: Prepare Your Artworks​

  1. Mint your artworks as Metaplex Core assets
  2. Ensure limited editions haven't sold any prints
  3. Consider the rarity distribution you want to achieve

Step 2: Configure Your Jellybean​

  1. Set collection name, description, and thumbnail
  2. Choose your pricing and timing strategy
  3. Configure allowlist phases if desired

Step 3: Select Artworks​

  1. Choose pre-minted artworks from your wallet
  2. Review automatic rarity assignments

Step 4: Launch and Monitor​

  1. Review all settings before launch
  2. Start your sale manually or wait for scheduled launch
  3. Track performance through the Jellybean Studio
